Balik Pulau Cycling Trip

Penang is a place very suitable for cycling. This time, we did Balik Pulau 1 day cycling. Balik Pulau is far from Penang town, usually people seldom go over that area. But when you hear about Balik Pulau, it can’t separate with Laksa and Hakka Village. Before went for cycling, yes, I did my homework, search in blog by people and arrange the places we want to go. Early in the morning, I drove from my home to Sungai Petani (45mins), then take bus from Sungai Petani to Butterworth Jetty (1hr). After that, take ferry cross to Penang Jetty (45mins), and last jump on my friend’s car and depart to Balik Pulau (1hr). When we reach Balik Pulau already 10am, it’s too late. Because I don’t know the road in Penang, so can’t drive straight to there, maybe by GPS, next time have to try drive to Penang.

1^st Station: Audi MTB Cycling Club

Audi MTB Cycling Club is a homestay and they also provide bicycle rental service. Their service very good, we even eat our breakfast there. Rental for bike is for whole day, so you can just cycle to anywhere you want. They also provide us with map around that area.

~ We passed by Hakka Village, but can’t go up the place as really high to climb ~

If you have chance, can overnight at Hakka Village, enjoy hakka meals and their culture. It will be very special experience. You can look up on their website >>> Hakka Village. Then, we proceed to fishing village. At there, you can see fishing boats along the river and fresh market also at there. After that, we back to return the bicycle because of too hot, can’t tahan the SUN. We decided to go other places by car.

2^nd Station: Nutmeg Factory

Nutmeg Factory is different area with Hakka Village.At the factory, you may see nutmeg trees and different types of nutmeg. There got sell nutmeg oil, sweets and drinking cordial. I bought nutmeg oil and cordial because I like it. Haha.

3^rd Station: Saanen Dairy Goat Farm

Saanen Diary Goat Farm is free entry, the owner will bring you to see the goats.

~ They also promote fresh goat milk yogurt which costs RM5 for one small bottle, but very delicious ~

Yeah, here ends our trip. Very nice to cycle in Balik Pulau area, just a bit too hot weather…Besides that, here attached together something out of our planning. hehe.

CNY 2014

Since my last blog post was 1 month ++ back, really very very busy recently, until now I just got some time to write this post. CNY already ended but I still want to recall the CNY mood, cheer up myself. Haha. During CNY, I spent not many days at home because had to go back campus for military training. Before CNY, I spent 1 week at campus for Latihan Berterusan PALAPES. I kept my skin until very very fair and smooth for 6 months during internship, but after 1 week of Latihan Berterusan, everything gone and get sunburn. So, during CNY, I’m already very dark. This year, I bought quite many clothes, went to many pasar malam, just buy any cloth which I feel nice, ladies like shopping what. Haha.

Of course very very delicious reunion dinner for the whole family. We went to watch countdown fireworks for half an hour.

CNY Day 1

Theme for year 2014 is purple color, so everyone of us wear purple color. Day 1 of CNY, mood to receive angpao is ON.

Evening of Day 1, we went back to grandma’s house. That night, 24 persons in the house, rooms, living room also full with people.

CNY Day 2

We went to Ladang Anggur Perlis, is not worth I think. RM3 per person but nothing much to see inside.

CNY Day 3

Last day at Kangar, aunt from Singapore and KL and our family also went back home already, grandma’s house become very empty at that moment. Along our journey back home, we stopped at Gunung Keriang to buy crystal.
