New Boyfriend in my life

Alright, is my turn, let me share a little bit about preparation for myself in MUDS. Last year, I used to join mixed relay in MUDS 2011. If want to see my result of last year, can view on this >>> MUDS2011 UPNM, MUDS 2011 UPM and MUDS 2011 UM. For this year, I would like to try something new. I decided to do Women University, means need to complete my race individually, 3km run – 12 km cycle – 3km run. Although got a little challenging to me, but I willing to accept the pain. I’m still new in cycling on road bike. I don’t know where I can borrow bicycle, I also don’t have bicycle. Last last, I found a bicycle that belongs to my classmate. 2days before race, I just received the bike on hand. The bike really looks very nice, is POLYGON HELIOS 100, blue colour. So, Mizi helped me to do bike fit and I went for training everyday. I still very scared to ride in high speed, hope my cycling skill can improve soon. J Now, I got a new boyfriend enter my life, haha, is a road bike actually, I bring “him” to my room, i sleep with “him”, eat with “him”, 24hours keep “him” in sight of me. Haha. Very pleased to own a part time boyfriend, haha, but just for MUDS la, maybe after this event, need to give back to “his” owner lo..sad, I want to own it forever J I take care of “him” carefully, because “he” is not mine, this costs RM 1200 leh. I really love “him” haha J So, after this, I can join for ride with outsiders already with this bike..hooray…

~ Here, show you my lover  --- POLYGON HELIOS 100, S size ~

For this event, I spent quite a lot on my needs also, I bought one new cycling pant for myself, to avoid pain on my buttock. Want to cycle 13km not so far, but want to give myself to have a comfortable ride. Thinking of maybe next time I will follow some cycling club to ride at outside, so I just bought it. When put in on, really feels the different, easier to ride and feel very comfortable. Got one layer of sponge inside, padded pant, just like wearing ladies pad inside, haha. Beside than spent on attire, I also bought one container of Power Bar Recovery for myself. This recovery drink is suitable for after race. It helps to support muscle recovery and body repair damaged muscle tissue to help you get ready for your next training session or competition. It also help rehydrates efficiently. Is very useful for us those training hard now. I need to get the best condition to race in MUDS 2012, so just try some nutrition drink. Recovery is also one of the most important slot in training session. Now, after my training, I will serve one bottle of recovery drink when doing revision on studies everyday, feeling good. Actually, the recovery tab already expired on 4.5.2012, so they sell RM50 per tab, for the new one, is RM120 per tab. But after expired date, still can drink for 2 more months, I think I can finish one tab within 2 months, and I want to save money, so I bought the expired one. J So far still no problem la. Haha. But, just in May, I already spent a lot, after this, need to tie up my stomach, save money, if not…I don’t know la..

~ My new ladies cycling padded pant, Branded ELAN, it costs RM110, ¾ long, nice ~

~ My recovery drink in Orange Flavor, prepare to drink when doing assignments, it costs RM50 only per tab~

The day before event, I prepared everything before I went to sleep. I put the bib sticker on my bike, wash my bike, prepared attire for next day, put supplements in my bag. And I slept very early, 2330H already hibernate myself. Really felt very nervous…how…I borrowed cycling jersey from Tarmizi, so that can get in mood of cycling, haha…

~ The attire I decided to wear on race day with bib no. B204. Smart or not? J The jersey not mine, just borrow from Mizi. But this set of attire not cheap at all, Jersey RM120, cycling pant RM110, Nike Lunarfly +2 RM310, total up more RM500, wa..~

When I bought something new, on another hand, got other thing broken pulak. Haiz…Need to cut down expenses on daily uses maybe or someone want to sponsor me? J But where to find sponsor wor…My sunglass broken 1 month already, without wearing this sunglass, feels very uncomfortable, like lack of something. But this sunglass is just a super common sunglass, but look very nice. Don’t get shock when you hear the price..This is the cheapest thing in the world. But now broken already, so need to find another sunglass again.

~ Can you guess how much is it? It costs only RM2. Haha. Although it is only RM2, but many people like to borrow from me..means the spec very nice la.. J ~

ARE YOU GET READY FOR MUDS 2012??????? GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE…

Pre-MUDS 2012

Arrrgh, been busy for one month already, but busy for what leh? Aiya, busy planning and prepare for coming Malakoff University Duathlon Series (MUDS) 2012. MUDS is a popular event among athletes, it is an event included 2 disciplines of sports, there are running and cycling. We will do 3km run – 12km cycle – 3km run continuously. And for MUDS 2012, 1st leg on 12 May 2012 at UM, 2nd leg on 19 May 2012 at UPM and 3rd leg on 26 May 2012 at UPNM, you may come and have a try. If want to know further information, and look on this site >>> MUDS 2012. I have been chosen to become organizer @ manager for MUDS with another 2 friends, Tarmizi and Bukhari. We are 3 people together manage everything about this event. Actually got difficulty for 3 of us to discuss everything about this event, there is because 3 of us are from 3 different faculties, Tarmizi is from Faculty Engineering, Bukhari is from Faculty Management and I’m from Faculty Science & Technology. We got no time to meet up, except sacrifice night study time to do discussion. So, we usually discuss at night. This is the hottest event for Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM, because it involved all members in our club. Some more this is a 3 series game, so we started training every morning and evening one month before the hottest event, then go for event 3 Saturday continuously. If total up, can concluded as we think all about MUDS for almost 2 months. But, when you follow every training session and achieve the result that you wish, then you will feel very enjoy and satisfy. Commonly, our training time is 0630H – 0730H and 0530H – 0700H, twice a day.

~ Training session, warming up ~

Right after Brooks Half Marathon that I organized before this, this is my 2nd time manage an event for Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM. As a club member, we are trained to become a good athlete and also a good manager. As a manager, we need to take care everything about participants, do registration for participants, settle transport, planning schedule and some document letters. While for an athlete, they just need to put their full commitment to training. But if you are a manager and an athlete, you shall do both from above. J AS I said, this event is 3 series, besides than UM and UPM, don’t be forget, UPNM also one of the host for MUDS. And for this year, UPNM will be the host for 3rd leg MUDS 2012. 3rd leg of MUDS shall be a very grand and best leg of MUDS, because is the last leg of MUDS, will be the conclusion in this event, many big prizes will be giving out in last leg of MUDS, such as BEST UNIVERSITY AWARD, TOP UNIVERSITY AWARD, DUATHLETE OF THE YEAR (men/women) and other prizes.

~ Previous year of us ~

So, we need to put more effort to plan a-z for MUDS 2012 in UPNM, make it more perfect and grand. We 3 try to manage everything more neatly, cannot be a little bit wrong also. Every single slot also cannot miss out, included setup of every places, route, activities, schedule, gimmick, do paper work and other things, try to do the best for this game. At 1st, I used to holding a file that full with papers to HEPA, pieces of paper that full with list of things that need to settle, discuss with Pusat Sukan. Everyday going to HEPA, I think the staff at the information counter also lazy to see me already, must be think that I’m very “mafan” one. Haha. Follows by the procedures, we settle it up one by one, at last, I can just bringing a small piece of paper to update with Pusat Sukan UPNM to do last comfirmation. But for the worst part, I think is the name list part, we keep on changing the name list, to get the best for everyone in every category. Everyday, don’t know how many times I edited the name list, just can say minimum 3 times, sometimes edited until midnight., just the name list. Haha, but ok lah, I’m enjoyed doing this job, just my responsibility to provide the best for club members.

 ~ MUDS 2012 Timeline ~

For our club, we sending 52 people for Men University Category, 3 people for Women University Category, 4 teams Men Relay and 5 teams Mixed Relay, total is 82 people, the largest contingent for MUDS 2012, gonna bom the MUDS with UPNM students, make it more attractive. I usually update some information about MUDS in Page Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM, to inspirit their mood to chase for winning. For last year, UPNM hold 4 main big trophies, and this year, I wish we can do it so. Good Luck to all.

~ Some food to everyone ~

Finally, 1st leg of MUDS 2012 gonna start soon. The race is on 12 May, due to our club’s style, we used to do a short briefing before event, do a montage to inspirit everyone. Before race, on Thursday night, we hold a briefing at café, I given the job to brief everybody, was the 1st time gave briefing to all club members, involved of seniors and also juniors. Well, I gave them briefing but don’t know they understand what I said or not, haha. At the same time, also got prepared burgers to everybody, some French fries, jellies, fruits and drinks.  After briefing, got a montage session from me, I did a video about pre-race for them. Hope they like the video. Just don’t waste my effort on this video la, haha, actually, I finished this video within one day and I didn’t sleep for one night for doing this video. Then, went to class then gave briefing, for that time, I brake my own record, didn’t sleep more than 24 hours 40 hours. Luckily, Shobana helped me in doing the video. Thank You, really appreciate it. Briefing ended around 12am.

~ In clinic, I get one Power Bar bottle and here is the goodies I get. This year they sponsored a lot of this, nice shirt written with “I BOLEH DU”, the meaning contained inside might be say that “I CAN DO” meaningful ~

On Friday, as I’m one of the managers for MUDS UPNM, so we went to take bib no. for all participants. Right after class on Friday, 10 people followed me along for Goodies Collection. At the same time, there got a Clinic Session and Race Briefing Session. For Clinic Session at UM, talked about “Nutrition Plan”, and the speaker is Sir Chan Jun Shen from UPNM. He is a 3 x Ironman Finisher, 2 x Duathlete of the Year and he is good in Nutrition Planning. I know more about nutrition planning from his presentation. Alright, after the clinic and race briefing session, we back to UPNM. We gathered all the UPNM’s participants, to allocate bib no to them. After they received bib no, they proceed to setting their bike. They checked everything on their bike, to make sure the bike is in good condition. And after all, everybody prepared for their race on the next day.

~ Clinic presented by Sir Chan Jun Shen on topic “Nutrition Plan” ~

~ Bib No given to all participants ~

Kejohanan Ping Pong Tertutup UPNM 2012

On 28 April 2012, Kejohanan Ping Pong Tertutup 2012 held in UPNM. When time free, then will feels like too free, but when event comes, there will be everything thrown to you at the same time. OH my god, that week I training for coming MUDS every morning and evening, plus got 4 assignments wanted to submit within that week, then another event came to find me, that was Kejohanan Ping Pong. My classmates needed a girl to form a team. I think and think, taught want to “retired” in this extent already, for so long time didn’t hold the ping pong bat, but heard that no need registration fee, so I just gave myself another try. Actually I’m rushing on my 4 assignments, but I still can went to play ping pong like nothing happen, very cool right? Haha. The game started at 2pm sharp, my group’s name was “PLASTIK MINUMAN”, what a funny name ya.

~ We played ping pong at our café~

Quite many groups took part in this game, all are still new in this extent, so the standard quite low la.  Don’t know how, my group passed to semi final, then entered top 4… So lucky meh, my team mates all also not so pro, me also not so pro ah..But met with the strongest team and lost already, so, no fate to enter final..

~My team mates, thanks a lot~

To challenge for no.3 and no.4, my team mates showed their spiritual in ping pong. Finally, we won no.3 in Kejohanan Ping Pong Tertutup UPNM 2012, very good result, satisfied I sacrifice my time to play it.

~ For the 3rd prize, we got a hamper, medal and certificate, worth it, ~

After the event, I went back to room and started to focus on my assignments. Assignments more important la..haha. Whatever la, still need to thank everybody for let me refresh my mind before I rush for my assignments..

PALAPES Training: Repelling & Abseiling

On 21-22 April 2012, we got PALAPES training. This week, should be a relax week for training, because just did repelling and abseiling exercises in planning, but turned to an unforgettable training in memory. As usual, we got physical training (PT) in the morning. After that, we went to repelling tower to start our repelling session. Juniors, intermediates and seniors training together, seniors went up 1st., while Intermediates just sitting there and wait for their turn, juniors as well. At 2.30pm, an unexpected thing happen, can you imagine how hot it was at 2pm? Juniors get a super duper “luxury gift” from officer, ladies juniors done 150 times of PT10 while waiting guy juniors to came back from 2.4km’s run. Felt very exhausted did that under hot sun, sumore was wearing full loreng that time. After 150 times of PT 10, what comes next? We have to lie down on the field facing to the hot sun and cannot close our face with hat or other else. Oh gosh, felt the most terrible moment in my life, did it for about 45mins, hot sun straight on my face and sweat coming out like water on my face. As I know, we get that punishment because of being “NOT SERIUS” in doing exercises, is it? Waiting for the whole days to juniors’ turn, it was 6pm already, after packed up my gears, I get ready to climb up to 4th floor, it was quite make me nervous.

~ Yeah, finally is my turn ~

We reported to staff before jump down: “Saya, 752xxxx, Pegawai Kadet Wanita Txx Yxxx Lx minta kebenaran untuk turun, Tuan.”
After reached, then put off the glove, then report again: “ Saya, 752xxxx, Pegawai Kadet Wanita Txx Yxxx Le selamat turun, Tuan.”

It was so challenging and not bad. While waiting others to complete it, we sang
PALAPES UPNM
Lyrics:
Bermula hidup seorang awam
Menjadi tentera
Badan berbirat dilanyak sudah
Mental pula diuji

Berbaris maju ke dewan kuliah
Ilmu perlu digenggam
Tetap bersedia walau penat lelah
Wawasan tetap ada

Chorus:
Inilah ikrar sumpah perwira
Sedia berkorban pada nusa dan bangsa
Junior intermediate senior
Kami tetap bersama
Dalam menggapai pegawai muda
PALAPES UPNM

Ulang Chorus

PALAPES sohor
PALAPES megah
PALAPES UPNM  X2

~ Everybody are suffering under hot sun~

On Saturday night, a day I don’t want to recall back, we got hell for 1 hour. Wa, what a tired day, we did side rolls, knuckles and others la for an hour, totally made me don’t know what I’m doing. Always the same things been talked by the officers and stuffs, “Not wearing loreng to class” lah, “ not walk in baris when go to class” lah, “need to respect” lah, huh, really very…. This was the most difficult training ever in my junior state. For this training, I think we already did around 300 times of PT10 in these 2 days.

On the next day, more relaxing day, seniors and intermediates get chances to do abseiling, but juniors don’t have chance to do, because not enough time. Abseiling done in same procedure, need to report before jump down also, but abseiling need to go one floor higher, it was 5th floor high, wow.

 ~ 5th floor, challenging ~

Until now, I still not understand what we did and changed a punishment like this. My face got sunburn and my skin peel off throughout the whole week, black and white skin on my face, very ugly. Wherever I go, people sure will ask me, “ei, why your face?” Aih, lazy to answer…The trainin ended with become a black woman..hoho

~ Even my hand also can looked got two colours, what to say for my face? ~

Lately, PALAPES always got OC Parade on Wednesday morning, so need to shine the spike boots of course, I’m not so pro in shine shoes, but at least better than last time. Before this, I don’t know how to shine, I just know how to blacken the shoes. When I ask my friends how they shine their shoes, 10 people give me 10 different answers, everybody got their own way to shine shoes. Last last, I look at how my friend shine the shoes and I followed her way to shine, wa, at last, my shoes become shining now…What a relief…haha.

~ Can see the different? Which one is before and which one is after? ~

Class Visit To SKTLDM Lumut

~ 1TMT1 + 1TMT2 ….guys who wearing blue uniform are naval cadets, those wearing baju kurung or formal attire are civilians ~

Last visit to Lumut was last year, already past 1 year. As I studying Degree in Technology Maritime now, then of course for this few years, my life can’t run away from maritime industry. This semester, I’m taking subject of Maritime Communication, so we got one class visit on 2 April 2012 to Stesen Komunikasi Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia Lumut (SKTLDM Lumut), to see how SKTLDM Lumut functions. Actually SKTLDM is a place prohibited to outsiders, but we are UPNM’s students and our lecturers apply to let us visit. Maybe by reading, we didn’t absorb all the knowledge, but with seeing, for sure it can keep our memory stronger and deeper. We had a short briefing about SKTLDM Lumut and then visited to every department in there. Feels like “Oh, not bad la Malaysia”. Of course as I mentioned, it is prohibited place, so I also cannot talk more about SKTLDM Lumut. But just can say, this visit really helped me a lot. It was proved in my test. My test was on the next day of Lumut visit. Actually I didn’t read so much about the theory and didn’t remember the important points, but I’m answering questions according to what we learned yesterday. Result coming out with better result than I expected. Erm…that’s why experience always win than become a bookworm.

 ~View of Pekan Lumut~

Well, let’s move to next destination, Pekan Lumut, is time to buy satay ikan. Last year, we went Lumut with 35people only, but this year we went together with new students, so total up are 68 people, 20 naval cadets and 48 civilians. Journey from KL to Lumut need around 4 hours, takkan want to straight go back to KL after visit, right? So, we “shopping” there, I planned to buy some back to hometown. After surveyed the prices there, wa, I bought around RM30 leh, only for junk food, oh no. Looking everybody holding 3 or 4 plastic bags, felt so funny, seems like went for a long vacation, but just went to Lumut in reality, haha.

~ See, so many bags from them ~

Maritime studies really very wide extent to explore. Now, our faculty is on the way to make civilian students more valuable in this extent and can get jobs easily. For civilian students, we still can choose which department we wish to work in our future, for those naval cadets, they will upgrade as navy officer and serve in Royal Malaysia Navy (RMN) after commission. Those who own “Mariners Card” will have better chance in maritime world and can go for internationally. The course included basic safety training, get the license, tanker fertilization course and many more. The only department that provide mariners course is Marine Department Malaysia. Once you passed all the courses and tests, then will get the mariners card. Commonly, mariner course is taken by who want to go sailing or work on merchant ship. When lecturer ask who wish to get this course, everyone put on their hand, not only guys but ladies as well. This course very attracted to me and others. Actually, go sailing very dangerous and who knows what will happen on the ship. Not everyone can take this course, it costs quite expensive to get the license and the most important thing is you need to pass the medical check-up 1st. If medical check-up fail, you are OUT!!! Our lecturer not encourage ladies to take this course, so no need to think la har.. As I ask my parent, they also not allowed, so… just wait those captain of merchant ships share their experience and life on the sea to us after they go for sail la…. Is it every day looking at dolphins jump over here and there? Haha. If you are interested in mariners, you search on the rules.

But for girls, we can go for navigation centre to work, such as Air Control Room at KLIA. 2nd year students just visited to Air Control Room KLIA, and our lecturer told us they are welcome us to work at there. At least feels that ladies work at base more safety la. Can I put my hope on this? Hoho.

 ~KLIA Air Control Tower~

Our faculty really helped us a lot. Subjects of us about Maritime Communication, Nautical Science, Nautical Law, Basic Electric, Marin Science and many more.  And so, in future, maybe next year or next next year, will got another degree courses open in UPNM, such as Degree in Hydrography, Degree in Geography and many more la. Like what I’m taking now is Degree in Technology Maritime, is the course that only one in Malaysia. Still got other universities provide courses about Maritime, as example:

1.     Degree in Science Oceanography
2.    Degree in Marine Biology
3.    Degree in Technology Maritime
4.    Degree in Nautical Science and Maritime Transport
5.    Degree in Maritime Management

Their courses are quite specific and different from us. Degree in Technology Maritime in UPNM consists of subjects of 5 courses from UMT. So, we are covered wider extent. As UMT is more well-known because they already got many years in history. UMT located in Terengganu, so their students always got outing and do research at sea. UPNM is lack of this “facility”.

1.     Degree in Aquaculture
2.    Degree in Marine Science
3.    Degree in Fisheries Science

UMS is expert in this extent too, but their research more about in the sea. Different with us, ours are more at the sea. UMS from Borneo Marine Research Unit upgraded become Borneo Marine Research Institute in year 2000. Quite popular also.

Besides, got many maritime academy in Malaysia too and government institution like ALAM. If you ask me which industry will got brighter future, I will tell you, maritime is very good to explore. Malaysia need this kind of professionals. Alright, just my introduction to you all. Thanks. And hope everyone will get bright future.

PALAPES Training: Log Relay & Cross Country

The day before PALAPES Training, on Friday night, Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM held one video showing on << Chasing of the Legend>>. I went for the video showing after roll call PALAPES. Suddenly saw so many foods on the tables, and the café was well- setup for our dinner and video showing leh. I was too shocked looking at so “luxury dinner” for club members. While eating dinner, we watched cycling video at the same time, don’t you feel too enjoyed at that moment? Haha. A lot of foods served to us: Nasi Tomato with hotdogs +nuggets +chicken, waffles, fruits, beverage and jelly. Wow, that night really made my stomach full. First time watched cycling video really made my heart going to pop out by the cyclist actions. They ride too good and too fast, really scared to cycle, but they did very well. Thanks Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM anyway, let me learn a lot of things. Erm, let’s say next time held one video showing at the Dewan Bestari and open for everybody, just collect RM1 for the entrance ticket, can earn money for club, at the same time can let others know more about endurance sport, hah, I think my idea not bad la. We shall watch video together with whoever interested in sport, sit in the hall just like sitting in a cinema, having snacks when watching video, let’s burn up the spiritual of sports in the hall. Great great, I like it.  I shall recommend this to club members.

  ~Our rice +jelly~

 ~Waffles~

~Fruits~

~Look, our club just like one super duper happy family. Watch video together, swim together, run together, cycle together, eat together, share sport knowledge together, go event together, pain together, training together, make UPNM proud together. We are the best!!! ~

Well, it’s time for PALAPES Training again. On 31 March and 1 April 2012, Saturday and Sunday, we worked as a soldier. PALAPES as the invited Battalion to challenge in Log Relay & Cross Country. These are tradition sports for Angkatan Tentera Malaysia(ATM), Log Relay, also known as Log Race is about a game to carry log on the shoulder in pair, two persons per log, wearing Full Set Marching Order (FSMO), and holding a M16 along, run for 1.6km. They need to see which Battalion is the fastest. While Cross Country is about to run in a jungle, slippery hill in Game Order (G.O) for 8km. Actually both these activities hold to choose the Battalion (Bn) Diraja, among Bn TUAH (Red), Bn KASTURI (Yellow), Bn JEBAT (Blue) , Bn LEKIR (Green) , while Bn KEKIU (Maroon) and Bn PALAPES (Black) joined but didn’t count on their marks.

 ~Our Parade Commander>>> Mr. Quek Tea Gee~

 ~ Contingent Battalion LEKIR ~

Let’s talk about Log Relay. Log Relay known as sibling for ECO CHALLENGE, but is easier than eco challenge. Every battalion sent out 30 people for Log Relay. As I’m a person who plays endurance sports, so everybody keep asking me why I didn’t join Log Relay, aiyo, their questions very annoying la. It is because I not feeling comfortable to run with spike boots and log relay such a “high level’s game”, I think I can’t take it. I felt so helpless to my Battalion, sometimes I’m excused to PALAPES Training for running activities at outside, but when the time comes, I can’t help them in Log Relay pulak, felt so sorry. So, I decided to join Cross Country to contribute my sweat for PALAPES. For Log Relay, PALAPES get no. last but without training, they managed to do it just 1s left behind no.5, very good.

~Let you see what is Log Relay in actual~

~Battalion PALAPES, team Log Relay & team Cross Country. Can find me? I’m at the left hand side 8th in the column.~

While for the Cross Country, every battalion sent out 90 guys and 10 ladies for this challenge. As I’m quite strange with the route, just knew the route quite challenging. Each battalion sent out 100 persons, means 6 battalions total is 600 persons need to run on the narrow route in the jungle? Wow, really is torturing lo. Every battalion got their own strategic to win. They sent their guys to guide and “open road” to their ladies, so that can get in top 5 and contribute marks for their battalion. Well, I don’t have guider and want me to chase and take over so many guys on the narrow route really very difficult. Until the highest of the hill, when time to goes down the hill, the route very slippery, when you started the “journey”, just like cannot stop down!!!! I’m so scared, take the best position and run down the slippery route, when felt uncontrollable, fast fast had a pit stop by hugging at the big tree, it was too extreme, haha. My no bib was 091, I get no.10 for ladies category, means, got 50 ladies left behind me, ok, not bad la. You know what we used to colour our no. bib? Tell you la, in military life, we used Black Kiwi to colour our no. bib. Haha.

~Starting Line of Cross Country, so many people, how to run leh?~

 ~Run Run Run…..~

For the conclusion in both of these games, PALAPES didn’t get any prizes and the winner was Bn TUAH, Congratulations. Cadets always found they got “unfinished job” with PALAPES cadets because PALAPES was the winner for Eco Challenge while cadets was the runner-up. As they found PALAPES like “Kacang lupakan kulit”, too proud after winning the game. Actually not like that lo, I think the athletes who joined Eco Challenge knows the actual situation, the news of “too proud” just blows among the outsiders and supporters who don’t know how their hard training with cadets going on.
#Supporters always look on the result but they didn’t look at the process#
So, don’t blame us who don’t know the real process and just cheers for our team’s winning. Overall, cadets and PALAPES’s cadets still 1 family, we are happy family. Peace J About Eco Challenge, still got a long long story to talk, but too sensitive, cannot talk. This time, cadets won all the prizes and counted fair already lo, each team won once.  Congratulations for cadets and PALAPES cadets. Well, Log Relay & Cross Country ends here. Cadets celebrated their winning by outing while PALAPES still need to carry on with our weekend training.

 ~Contingent Battalion TUAH~

 ~Contingent Battalion LEKIU~

After lunch, we got TACTICAL TEST. Har? Military training also need to do exam? Haiz… Study a little bit for this exam, don’t know what’s marks I get, hoho, hope will passed. TACTICAL TEST came out what we did at annual camp last 2 months, think back of the 10days jungle life, haha, what a funny life there. After everything settled, PALAPES Training also finished….

Have you been to Terengganu before this? What you will think if hear of Terengganu? Turtle? Have you hear about Kenyir Lake, been there before? If yes, I believe that you must be fall in love with the scenery at Kenyir Lake, right? I just can admit that I love Kenyir so much, where provide beautiful natural scenery and peaceful surrounding at there. Kenyir Lake is one of the tourism spot in Malaysia. As for your information, Kenyir Lake is an artificial lake located in the state of Terengganu in northeast Malaysia created in 1985 by the damming of Kenyir River to create the Sultan Mahmud Power Station. Kenyir Lake is the largest man-made lake in the world, the lake covers 260km*2, it contains 340 small islands and 19 waterfalls, can you imagine how big it is? Or you can’t imagine, or you straight away wanna pack your luggage to go there after reading this? J The water level is changing every months, the highest water level is in March & April. If you planning to visit anywhere with friends or family in Malaysia, I suggest you, Kenyir Lake is the most suitable place for you to relax your mind , at the same time can let you eye opener. At Kenyir Lake, can camping, boat cruising, team building activities, fishing and many more la. Got feel like want to go now?

This time, need to thanks to Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM for giving me opportunity to join this game, let me stepped to Terengganu for the 1st time in my lifetime. 25 March 2012, was an important date, Kenyir Lake International Triathlon hold at Kenyir Lake. Kenyir Lake International Trithlon known as Malaysia’s toughest triathlon Race. Triathlon is a race that involved of 3 disciplines of sports, there are Swim-Bike-Run, do it continuously, people who finish it individually called triathlete or triathlon finisher. For this race, Swim 1.5km, Cycling 40km and Run 10km, quite a challenging race. This was my 1st time to join triathlon race, you will see the peak time for athletes to swim, cycling and running. Although this is a thrithlon race, but I don’t know how to swim, so I just join mixed relay for running 10km in this event. I seldom went for training for this event, quite scared whether can finish it or not, my partners also scared and non-stop of asking me to do training, haha.

Well, 23 April 2012, we departed from UPNM at 9pm, 8hrs journey from KL to Terengganu really very tired. We reach Terengganu at 5am on the next day, then we walked along at Kuala Terengganu. At there, we get to see the special and the lifestyle in Terengganu, quite different from KL. The foods popular in Terengganu are keropok losong, Telur Penyu, Keropok Segera and many more.

~Turtle Eggs. Cannot see turtles, at least can see turtle eggs la J, very expensive lo ~

After that, we went to Kenyir Lake. Kenyir Lake located in a rural place. When reach there, everybody woke up from sleep, looking at the beautiful scenery, everybody naturally speak out: “Wa..Wa..Wa…”, me as well. The way up to our resort make us realize why triathlon held here called toughest triathlon, it’s because there is high and steep road along the road. Even bus drive up to resort also “no more energy” on the half way, the road is quite similar to the road up to Genting Highlands. While waiting to check in to our chalet, I get attracted with the scenery view and quickly go and snap the photo.

~Scenery view of Kenyir Lake from lobby, don’t underestimate this view, inside here got 340 lakes and 19 waterfalls~

~The vehicle we used to come out from chalet to go to lobby or the main entrance. The resort might be free from air pollution because no motorcycle or cars around resort, plus the resort is surrounded by lake~

After checked in to chalet, we quickly change our attire and go to have fun looo….We went to book two boats for boat cruising around the lake. For a very long distance to stroll around there, just paid for RM7.50 per person, worth it. After we get off from the boat, I asked the person there, “ Here got how many waterfalls?”, he answered: “ 19 waterfalls”. Wow, unexpected, too many la, due to time problem, we can’t go to waterfalls, but I confirmed I will visit Kenyir Lake again one day in future.

~Boat Cruising, enjoyed~

At night, the night before race, got a Carbo Loading Dinner plus Race Briefing Session. Carbo Loading Dinner is a dinner that will be do in every triathlon race, this was the 1st time I went for carbo loading dinner such big like this. Every athlete from different countries gathered in the dinner and a lot of food served to us, such as: rice, spaghetti, fruits, bihun, cakes, breads and many more la, let you eat until stomach full.

                                ~Athletes~

After that, everybody prepared for the race on the next day. Control the mood for race. For me, I just hope can finish the 10km run with good result lo.

~My bib no—910, this was the 1st bib no. of mine with my correct name, thanks J ~

On the race day, I woke up very early in the morning to prepare myself, so that can keep myself in the best condition. Looking of so many bicycles parking there and everybody prepared to the race start. For me, I’m runner for my team, so no need to warm up so fast, I fast fast went to the starting line of swimming to take photos, swimmers are very smart at the starting line.

~Bicycles, got feel like want to join?haha~

~The race starts……Go……!!!~

For swimmer, they need to do body marking, so that easy for people to notice them. Body marking very smart leh, actually, no need for cyclist and runner, but I found it as something special for me, then I asked them to help me do body marking.

~Body Marking ----910, smart J ~

Yeah, finally is my turn to run, after so long for waiting my cyclist to come back. My swimmer lend me a helping hand, he accompany me along my run. This is kind of supportive partner, very effective if to guide a girl to run to get better result. But, he guide you, when tired and walked to rest while running, he said: “ Jangan jalan, slow jog slow jog”. But, my legs don’t want to hear from me, still walking. Haha. For many times he asked to to run back again when I’m walked. The steep and high road really make me tired. That time, I still remembered the weather very hot, was a sunny day, plus already 10am, felt like wanna fainted, I felt like when lah can see the finishing line, while my partner that accompanied me always said: “ Cepat, cepat, depan sikit lagi saje”. He cheated me, actually there is still quite far away from finishing line, but is for good reason la, to encourage me to run faster. When I see the finishing line, I sprinted to the end, wow, I still can sprint after 10km leh, just realized what is the effect for drill training everyday. Very happy finished 10km with quite satisfied result.

~Yeah, finished…~

~For my group, we get no.7 in Mixed Relay Category, (from left) Runner, Cyclist, Swimmer. Quite good la, thanks to my partners.`~
Swimmer (1.5km) 0:36:37
Cycling (40km) 1:11:13

~After the event, one guy propose marraiage to her girlfriend, so sweet~

At last, need to say bye bye to  Kenyir Lake and also Terengganu. I really love the scenery at Kenyir Lake. Can I go again next year? J Thanks UPNM for support us to thus game. My eyes opened after this game. Maybe need to training more to improve myself. Thanks for everything.
