20th Birthday * Famine 30 2012

Wa, so long didn’t update my blog already, been lazy to write post. I’m officially 20 years old now, not more teenager. Heard of twenty, might think is a mature lady, able to live on her own hand, a lady live with freedom. But totally not like that, I’m still need helps from family and friends like others. Just say goodbye to my 19 years back, and welcome my 20th year on this earth. As we grow older, should be think more mature, look far and do better in our life in future. Many dreams cannot do in past 19years, and I hope can chase my dreams from now at this new starting point. Actually I want to do some volunteer job or any kind of part time activity that can help people during this semester break but don’t know where to find. A teenage heart which still seeking experience and full with spirit makes me pop up an idea to organise a small event or a camp during this semester break. But a helpless lady here got ideas but no place to voice out. If you want to create an event or a camp, need a group of responsible friends to help you out and need to have a good plan. I just got 2 months holiday, not enough time to create a good event. So, this is also one of my dreams--- create my own event. I know I still not able to create my own event, so not to waste my sem break, I choose to join Famine 30 DIYCamp. Cannot do an event, but still can join other events right.. Before my 20th Birthday, I want to have good memory for my past 19 years. I was late to register for Famine 30 DIY Camp, but I still find out the camp leader’s phone number from Famine 30 website. I 1st contact the leader of camp nearest to my house, got 3 but full, then contact camp leader in Penang. Finally, she let me in. But because of some problem, this Famine 30 DIY Camp became only 12hours camp. Finally got one camp accept me, I’m so happy, on 4 August 2012, coincidently is 2 days before step to my 20th birthday, hold at USM.

Like last year, I also joined Famine 30 DIY Camp 2011 饥饿三十 at Chew Jetty Camp, Penang. This year as well, was my 2nd year joined this event, maybe is a fate to let me go Penang always la, haha. I went there myself and I don’t know anyone of them. On 4 August 2012, I woke up 5am, then my mum fetch me to Sungai Petani bus station at 6am, after that I went to Butterworth bus station from SP at 7am, 8am reach Butterworth, and then took ferry to Penang Jetty. As I planned, 8.30am reached Penang, for the “last relay baton” to reach the final destination (USM), I contacted my friend to fetch me up from Penang jetty and sent me to USM. You can know how important a friend in our life. This relay from Jeniang – USM took me 3hrs, if by car, can reach within 1 and 15mins. Nevermind, next year I can drive to Penang by myself already. Although many difficulties to go to this Famine 30, but my spirit still there. Every year, Famine 30 DIY Camp organized by World Vision, and received a lot of supports, this is really a very good programme.

Every year, Famine 30 DIY Camp with different slogan, last year was ( Hunger For Health)孩要健康, 就是现在, this year using “HUNGER NO MORE” 你我同在,饥饿不在, very meaningful sentence. For my experience of last year, for that 30 hours, we cannot eat anything but can only drink, fasting for 30 hours. During the camp, we played variety kinds of game, at night we got milo and soya drink. Another morning, got a cup of Herbalife’s breakfast drink. You can feel the hunger, but really meaningful. This year, we fasted for 12 hours and get a cup of milo. During the camp, we played games and got talks about the hunger problem in poor country. We live in Malaysia which free of earthquake and other natural disasters, which provide us a very warm house and peace country, can eat and sleep well, we should feel appreciate. People who live in poor country, they need food and home very much. They are still lack of education facilities, healthcare facility, they even don’t have enough clean water and food to survive, in addition they also don’t have a proper house, they only can sleep at roadside.

The main purpose of Famine 30 DIY Camp is to let us experience life of poor people, experience the hunger life of them. We live in Malaysia, need to appreciate every single thing we have and the food enough for us to eat, don’t waste anything as people in poor country need it very much.  I truly support World Vision for organize such a good programme for us, and so, I already took part in this event for 2 years, I will join this event in coming years as well. People who want to help them by donation, can donate to World Vision to help them.

< We do souvenir boxes for one OKU centre, I forgot the name dy. >

Finally, before 20 years old, I did something meaningful to help people. This year birthday, I received many blessed wishes from friends on FB, also by sms. I get free call for whole day from Maxis, so I called up my friends, around 15 people I called, haha. I didn’t buy any present for myself yet. T-ara coming to Malaysia this October, I hope to buy T-ara showcase ticket as the present for myself, but too expensive already. So, maybe will buy myself a T-ara album- Day by Day when go back to KL, haha, can’t wait for it J T-ara always de best !!! < Sexy Love >

Finally, I force myself to write this post, to not let my blog looks “dull”. Today’s topic is about food. I’m not so expert on food, but I can also introduce some nice foods to everyone.

1--- Cheapest Laksa sell beside my father’s shop, is a Malay food stall, got sell laksa, ice kacang, rojak, cendol…

It costs only RM0.50, worth to have a try la.

Small cendol, costs RM0.50, very cheap right?

 Ice kacang costs only RM1.00..

2--- Another one is also Laksa. This Laksa stall is located in Alor Star Mall, Alor Star, a footcourt called 华佗館。Variety of foods sell at there, I most like ice kacang and Laksa.

Lemak Laksa, very very delicious, but I forgot the price already.

Ice Kacang also nice… yummy yummy.

Already shake legs at home for one month lo… It’s August already…
