MUDS 2013 – 2nd Leg – UM


~ UPNM team ~

Completed 1st Leg of MUDS with very bad result last Saturday. Continue with 2nd Leg of MUDS at UM. As we all know, UM cycling route is the favorite for gang of pro cyclists, Bukit Cinta. That is a very hilly route, some more need to do 2 laps, wa, mental down. When climb up to Bukit Cinta, better don’t fall down, if not people will say “Kalau jatuh kat Bukit Cinta, memang JATUH CINTA la”. Haha. UM always is my most scare place. Running route at UM is very good, 2 laps under shady trees, then continue with 2 laps of hardcore cycling route, and last run back for 2 laps under shady trees again.

When climb up to Bukit Cinta, felt very mental and very difficult to finish the race, but thinking of UPNM jersey on my body, I can’t even bike off and push the bike. I just keep myself inspired and climb, climb, climb until the end. I did it again!!!

~ Irene Chong with me ~

Irene Chong was so fast and so far gap from me. She is a triathlete from Malaysia Elite Triathlon (MET). How can i catch up with her? She is too strong. Sir Chan, who are former champion of MUDS keep motivated me and gave me a challenge.He offered 3 barrels of KFC to Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM as motivation for me to beat Irene Chong. But Irene Chong however took a strong lead from the start and maintained towards the end, finishing almost 5 minutes ahead of me. OMG. But what I felt happy is my timing gets improved 2 mins from last year. This year I completed the race with timing 1:09.57 and placing No.2, while last year, I completed in 1:11.59. Is that a happy case or still a sad case leh?

Sentences from Chan that motivated me:

~ If u need to climb the hill in pain to win it, just do it ! ~
~If u think like a champion, you will race like a champion. If you think you'll finish 2nd, baik balik bilik tido. Don't waste time. ~

p/s: But I really think I will become 2nd again wor next game. I don’t know how to overcome this problem. Seriously !!!

If tomorow Malakoff University Duathlon Series Teh Yong Le from UPNM beats Irene Chong from UM. I'll sponsor 3 barrels of KFC for UPNM Kelab Sukan Lasak when i come back for weekend! GO UPNM!

Everybody saw that status, became the big issue immediately, every members of my club said “Teh, nak KFC, Teh, nak KFC”. Die already la me this time. Even the organizer also made it a statement to challenge, wa, I felt I really want to beat her, but my heart and legs haven’t achieve same level as her. Some more a volunteer photographer, Bro Tey came to me and asked me to take photo with my challenger as long as he arrive UM. Haha. I feels that everyone got put a little hope on me, but myself unable to get use of the chance given, was my bad, SORRY. I also want to become No. 1, but I’m not as strong as her. CHAMPION always belongs to THE BEST AMONG THE BEST. I need to train more and reschedule back my training programme.

Actually what I need is a motivator to push me, sometimes really lazy to training. Haha. Tiredness of training, others never know. Pain of training, others don’t even care. People just want CHAMPION, they don’t even know who are No.2. CHAMPION always be on TV, No.2 just get to stand in front TV to see broadcast about the world of CHAMPION. Really, if you want to race, make sure be the champion, if just want to become No.2, BALIK TIDOR LAH !!!

I lost very behind. Felt so sorry 3 barrels for club members just fly away like that. I know they want KFC. I gave them KFC.

P/S: Weeks before final exam really killing me, everyday busy with training, tests, assignments, presentations and the most important one, FYP. OMG. Tiredness achieves the peak level. Irene Chong also from UM, having same condition with me maybe, must be heap of assignments and tests waiting her. Ok, fair, we both go through the game in same condition.

MASUM Olahraga 2013

~ UM new track ~

The event that I’m very interested but very scared to race. MASUM Olahraga 2013 is my 3rd time join trek event in university life. But all 3 times got no result, none of any medal falls to my hand for 3 times. Lost, lost again and still lost. At first got 3 events clashed during that weekend.

10-12 May: Expedition Gunung Ledang - PALAPES
10-12 May: MASUM Olahraga - UM
11 May: 1st Leg of MUDS – UPNM

But, due to MUDS held at UPNM that week, UPNM can’t support PALAPES for the expenses to Gunung Ledang. Then, most of us will go for internship next semester, so, this expedition has to delay to next year, around February 2014. Wa, have to wait for so long. Coincidentally, MASUM Olahraga arrange the schedule well, my event was on 12 May morning. So, I get to join MUDS on 11 May and Olahraga on 12 May.

After 1st Leg of MUDS, very fast recover myself and ready for Olahraga. I like to go UM actually, food very cheap, facilities very good, campus big enough, got freedom unlike UPNM. MASUM Olahraga, I took part in 3000m running, 7 and ½ rounds of track. I get placing No.7 with timing 14:53.18, slightly slower than previous what I did during SUKIPT 2012 with timing 14:44.68. On track, u will realize what is ATHLETE; they are really the way too FAST.

~ Spaghetti with sausage and cheese, only costs RM4.50, so cheap ~

~ Rice + chicken + Egg + Vegetables, only RM4.50, beh tahan so cheap. If at UPNM, I think costs RM6. ~

After the event, me and junior went to Mid Valley to shop and wash my eyes. Haha, too long time didn’t go for shopping already. We found a nice place to relax. OSIM having an exhibition there, then we also had a try on the massage chair. Felt so good having massaged, wow, great. But very ashamed to sit there actually. I’m addicted with pearl drink, so went to GONG CHA booth. I ordered Milk Tea pearl. After ordered, they told me “pearl finish already, sorry, can you change other topping?” Wa, fire on my face immediately, how can a pearl drink shop can continue sales without the important product? Ish…. So, I just change other topping, so sad. I just want to eat pearls not milk tea actually, but they can’t give what customer need !!!! Kek Sim leh. Continuous 2 days of events, want to to shop at Mid Valley, my legs can’t make it anymore, very pain. Read books in MPH for 2 hours, so syiok. At Daiso shop, i bought a new toy. Hehe.

 ~ New toy, camera stand 180 degree adjustable, easy for me to take photos when travelling alone, yes, get it finally, guess how much? ~ 

~ How it function, i like it, satisfied, costs only RM5, mini and easy to bring ~

Well, back to MASUM Olahraga. 4 medals fall to UPNM athletes in this MASUM. Congratz to them.

~ 2 ladies juniors get placing no.4 and No.5 in Jalan Kaki 5000m. Mustaqim get placing No. 3 in Larian Berhalangan 3000m and placing No.5 in 10000m. ~

Very soon, UPNM will have track field, building now. Next time, UPNM can have appropriate training.

MUDS 2013 - 1st Leg - UPNM


~ UPNM Contingent ~

Malakoff University Duathlon Series (MUDS) is a “must join” game for members of Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM, because UPNM is one of the hosts. This is the only chance to let old horses  to show their talent and get stronger, at the same time let the newbie to open their eyes in duathlon world. For MUDS, members of Kelab Sukan Lasak are sponsored by Pusat Sukan UPNM, save our money, give us some moral to race for UPNM. Haha. Last year, I took part in individual category, and get placing No. 2. This year as well, I take part in individual category.

[ 3 km RUN – 13.8 km BIKE – 3km RUN ]

~ Starting Line ~

11 May 2013, started 1st leg MUDS at UPNM. UPNM is our home ground, people expect us to do well. During that week, I got 2 events clashed at the same time actually. 11 May for MUDS, and 12 May for MASUM Olahraga. One is road event, one is trek event, different training way. I followed trek training and not much training for cycling. As you know, I just bought my new bike >>> Merida HFS 904. I checked the meter of my lovely bike, it just ran for 6km in overall from the day pass to my hand until MUDS. What a funny case, means I just rode for 6km on my new bike before MUDS, maybe that 6km also just simply leisure ride. OMG. Nevermind, we can endure everything. The day before race, I self carbo-loading and prepared myself with 100% strong mental. I boiled for myself 3 eggs to add protein in my body. My legs felt so painful because of trek training, so we did a special “ Ice recovery”. We sink in a dustbin container with ice water for recovery, wa, so fun, so cold and so interesting, 1st time did that.

After came back from Kongkoil training, I suffered for allergic reaction for 1 week ++. After recovered from allergic, cough, cold and fever came and friends with me. Already get cold and cough for around 2 weeks, until now. When we run, we need to speed and burst our stamina, so, my heart and body felt so uneasy, very uncomfortable. At last, I finished the race with timing 1:06:26, was 2 mins slower than last year, so sad, my distance was too far from no.1.  Anyway, still felt so great getting placing no.2 in Women University Category.
