Latihan Berterusan and Annual Camp 2013

After final exam, supposed to get 1 month of semester break, but reduced to 1 week of holiday only, PALAPES cadets had to report back for Annual Camp on 26 Feb 2013. Latihan Berterusan from 27-30 Jan 2013 while Annual Camp from 31 Jan – 14 Feb 2013, training in jungle from 5 – 13 Feb. Felt very sad to know that Chinese New Year fall between that period, means we couldn’t have long holidays. OC announced that we can get holiday from 9-12 Feb, 4 days, that’s all. Walao eh, we just got to stayed at home from CNY eve until 3rd day of CNY, not enough man. Some more had to report back to camp on 13 Feb. Since 14 Feb Annual Camp finished, I didn’t know what for we reported back here again, wasted my time. We just got 3 days of holiday before new semester started. Anyway, after claiming that lack of holiday, here you should have a look on Annual Camp 2012 >>> ClickHere.

During Latihan Berterusan, we got military classes, physical training on the morning, Ujian Bertulis CW, Ujian Jalan Laju and lots of activities.

For Intermediate level, we learn about CW. It was completely different from CIW last year. Last year was in a jungle, above us always covered by trees, won’t get sunburn, but always become victim for “pacat”, I’m too scared of that. This year was in a palm oil area, at Felda Mempaga. Thought of life in jungle really made me nervous and scared. Luckily I get CNY holiday and get to escape from jungle. So, they trained in Palm Oil Forest for 9 days while I just set my mental to survive there for 4 days 3 nights. Although just 4 days, but I felt really bad because raining everyday there, everyday get wet on full body and can’t bath even once, very mental. Even very thirsty but had to control myself from going to find toilet. As you know, palm oil forest just oil big palm oil tree and not same with jungle that have small tree for us to get stick to build camp. In palm oil forest, easily get sunburn, and we used to find “pelepah” that fall down, cut down the leaves and build our camp.

Last year, we used to cook ourselves in jungle, but this year was different, got people cook for us and we just wait for food. Living in forest, everybody seems very tired, when food comes, the situation like people in the jail chase for food appeared, very funny. In jungle, in military, there is no different between men and women, so sharing food is very common in jungle. Everyday just “showered” ourselves with wet tissue, geli yerr….

~ This is how we eat, haha….because lack of water, so we always use a layer of plastic on top of a plate and just throw away the plastic after eating ~

~ Everbody resting on the floor ~

~ Action in GPMG ~

Routines in the camp site included build daytime toilet, nighttime toilet, wash our M16, sentry and many more. During that time, you will feel that how good if I get to lie on bed, how good if got water, how good if got toilet, how good if I get to bath, how good if got a shelter, oh my goodness, need to to glad we always have a good accommodation as well. Always on battle order even building camp (Nato on head, webbing set on body and M16 along). We build camp when the sky turns dark and open camp before the sky turns bright. I didn’t dare to capture photos at night so don’t have a photo for our camp.

~ Say bye bye to Pahang ~

Although I went back for CNY holiday earlier, felt sorry to my platoon as well. Anyway, 4 days also a great experience for me.
