MUDS 2013 - 1st Leg - UPNM


~ UPNM Contingent ~

Malakoff University Duathlon Series (MUDS) is a “must join” game for members of Kelab Sukan Lasak UPNM, because UPNM is one of the hosts. This is the only chance to let old horses  to show their talent and get stronger, at the same time let the newbie to open their eyes in duathlon world. For MUDS, members of Kelab Sukan Lasak are sponsored by Pusat Sukan UPNM, save our money, give us some moral to race for UPNM. Haha. Last year, I took part in individual category, and get placing No. 2. This year as well, I take part in individual category.

[ 3 km RUN – 13.8 km BIKE – 3km RUN ]

~ Starting Line ~

11 May 2013, started 1st leg MUDS at UPNM. UPNM is our home ground, people expect us to do well. During that week, I got 2 events clashed at the same time actually. 11 May for MUDS, and 12 May for MASUM Olahraga. One is road event, one is trek event, different training way. I followed trek training and not much training for cycling. As you know, I just bought my new bike >>> Merida HFS 904. I checked the meter of my lovely bike, it just ran for 6km in overall from the day pass to my hand until MUDS. What a funny case, means I just rode for 6km on my new bike before MUDS, maybe that 6km also just simply leisure ride. OMG. Nevermind, we can endure everything. The day before race, I self carbo-loading and prepared myself with 100% strong mental. I boiled for myself 3 eggs to add protein in my body. My legs felt so painful because of trek training, so we did a special “ Ice recovery”. We sink in a dustbin container with ice water for recovery, wa, so fun, so cold and so interesting, 1st time did that.

After came back from Kongkoil training, I suffered for allergic reaction for 1 week ++. After recovered from allergic, cough, cold and fever came and friends with me. Already get cold and cough for around 2 weeks, until now. When we run, we need to speed and burst our stamina, so, my heart and body felt so uneasy, very uncomfortable. At last, I finished the race with timing 1:06:26, was 2 mins slower than last year, so sad, my distance was too far from no.1.  Anyway, still felt so great getting placing no.2 in Women University Category.
