Putrajaya International Ekiden Run 2012 ~
The next day after last leg of MUDS 2012, I have been sign
up for 7th Putrajaya International Ekiden Run 2012. I remembered
that 6th Putrajaya International Ekiden Run 2011 was the 1st
event I went after I joined Endurance Club UPNM last year. It has been one year
already I joined this club, 1st anniversary I being a member in this
club, always proud of it. In conjunction with the National Youth Day “Millions of
Youth Gathering 2012” going on to attract millions of youngsters to support
this festival, there are 500 activities held from 23-27 May 2012. One of the
activities is 7th Putrajaya International Ekiden Run, Ekiden Run is
a run consists of 5 members to complete it, each of the member need to run
around 3km.

This year, it held a day after MUDS, so like 2 events too
near, got a little bit confuse on the race. In my team, 4 juniors and I, we
still finding a member that can be replaced someone at 3am. I want to sleep but
need to find another person to be in one team, so I slept when they told me is settled.
Just slept for 2hours, then prepare to go to Putrajaya. From Sungai Besi to
Putrajaya, the only public transport can reached is ERL, but still have to take
teksi to go to inside of Putrajaya. So, to solve my transport problem, I ask my
senior --- Low Sifu to fetch us there, my teammates were followed along. Then
Amir’s car was departed together too. I said to them gathered at 0540H, but we
departed from UPNM at 0645H, a “good” job right? I don’t know where their
punctuality is. When reached Putrajaya, can’t find the road to Istana
Kehakiman, round and round in Putrajaya around half an hour. Seniors calling made
us more anxious, we were late.
~ My teammates ~
Around 0850H, just found the place, then quickly take my bib
no from my teammates and find my bus to go on. Ekiden run divided into 5
runners, so each of the runner need to find their bus to reach their place
according to their alphabet, A,B,C,D and E as well. I experienced this last
year, everybody rushing finding buses. My teammates were 1st time to
this event, I told them to find the bus match to your alphabet, they can’t find
it. When I reached my place, still get the call said “Saya tak dapat naik bas
lagi” haha. It seems interesting, but lastly and luckily, they found their
buses. I’m runner E, so have time to warm up. The race started at 0800H,
Asmidar as runner A don’t have enough time to warm up maybe, but she able to
pass the baton to runner B at placing no.2.Ya, keep it well. When the baton
passed to me, was in placing no.4, then I run and took over one woman, so my
team get placing no.3 in Women Open Category. Total distance is 14.3km, we
completed it with 1:13:40. Team UPNM did it very good, UPNM sent 5 teams. For
Men Open Category, UPNM get placing no.2, no.4, no.9 and no.11, while team
ladies UPNM get placing no.3 in Women Open Category.
~ Our Result ~
When waiting the prize giving ceremony, coincidently Mr.Tey
who are a sport cameraman standing in front of me, then he said to me: “You
already like a season runner dy huh.” haha, maybe he saw my face always pop up
from his camera. Ya, I used to download race photos from his album, he snap a lot
of photos every race. Really thanks on his volunteer to take so many photos.
When I’m standing in front to get the prize, looking so many medias in front of
us to take photos, suddenly one man said to me: “ Semalam yang masuk MUDS ek? I
answered yes, he just thumbed up saying good to me. Wa, maybe joined too many
games recently, people started to recognize me already. As lately, I race
continuously for 4 weekends, no wonder why people can recognize me la. And
soon, coming this Sunday, going to Putrajaya Urban Adventure Challenge 2012 at
Putrajaya. My job is just non-stop of training to get myself super duper
fit J.
~ The prizes I get ~
As this month is my full
training month, so eating also can’t be save money, gears also cannot save,
topup handset and some supplements that cannot lack of. Without knowing, I
spent around RM600 in this month, really wanna bankrupt already. So, seems next week is the study week and my final exam of sem 2 in 1st
year Degree is just around the corner. So, I’m gonna rest for a while on games
and focus on my final exam, at the same time can save money for games. Study
week or can known as holiday week for me, my mom asked me to go home, she want
to see how black I’m. In real, I really turned dark a lot, how to get back my
fair skin J. Already 2months I didn’t go home, I
want to go back sleep on my bed, meet my old friends and feels the life free of
military lifestyle. The main point is go back hometown to enjoy delicious food
la, I don’t want to eat curry chicken everyday like in UPNM. Looking forward
for my study week J
